Hillside terrace gardens are an attractive addition to the landscape and can be planted with a variety of evergreen creeping shrubs, perennials, or annuals. Terrace gardens help prevent erosion by dividing hilly areas into smaller, level sections where water is more easily distributed and soaked into the ground. Now that your interest in a hillside terrace garden has been piqued, you might be asking yourself, “What is a terrace garden and where do I start?” Terracing in the landscape creates mini-gardens and is an excellent option for homeowners with steep slopes where planting is otherwise impossible. Continue reading to learn more about how to build a terrace garden in your landscape. Hillside terrace gardens are a great way to grow an array of plants and vegetables without the worry of having all your hard work simply wash away. What is a gardener to do? Consider building a terrace garden design and watch all your gardening woes slip away. Boot files are no problem - Diskeeper handles now worries - Low performing system files are also no problem - The difference is that diskeeper will not touch exclusively locked files to ensure data integrity. I asked about the fact it is running continually but was told this was correct otherwise when I start the scanner it will be 'forcefully' rejected unless I remember to go back in and start the service - just wish there was a way within the software to set this as and when needed. Diskeeper is good, but on my newest PC (nForce2) it makes WinXP unresponsive and appear to lock up whilst diskeeper is active (despite being set to normal priority). Compare price, features, and reviews of the software side-by-side to make the best choice for your business. Diskeeper prevents now as much as 85 of fragmentation BEFORE it happens. My firewall has it listed also but I know that is to allow the full access not that O&O is going anywhere as such. software is the fact that it is always running as a service even though I use it manually. But at which price point Dedicated cache along with a secure 'main HDD array' sounds much better and predictable to me than the tiered storage. But a tiered storage space alone or along with Diskeeper 2016 may be similar to PrimoCache right now. The only thing I don't like which is probably the same with the other defrag. Plus, Diskeeper 2016 aparently added RAM READ caching - but no L2 cache like PrimoCache. I'd say for speed go with Diskeeper, for a rigorous defrag go with PerfectDisk. It's not as fast as Diskeeper, but that's because it will do a much more rigorous free space consolidation and file placement optimization. I like the new version and it certainly can work fast although I do not let it run in the background. You may want to check out PerfectDisk from Raxco as well. I am running the current version of O&O after running v6 of the same software. I recommend using the entire 30 day period to evaluate a defragger as DK8 particularly seemed to take a week or so before my system benefitted from it. Diskeeper Home also allows users to continuously defragment their hard drives in the background without hogging resources and causing sluggish performance. Virus scans take about 8 mins less and generally the system seems much smoother and responsive but as ronjor mentioned sometimes defraggers are even more finnicky than AV programs, so try a few, you may find that your system will tell which one it prefers. I used to use DK8 but have recently switched to PD7 and couldn't be happier. Here is a link to the problem some users are having with NOD it doesn't seem to be widespread as only a few users are reporting it so it may be related to a software combination instead of just a conflict with NOD or Sygate. Another factor to consider is that with the latest DK version 9, Executive Software has decided to begin using TCP ports for internal program communication for some strange reason or another and this is begining to conflict with NOD and Sygate on some systems. Condusivs patented software accelerates Windows performance and reliability quickly, returning 40+ lost throughput, 2X application performance, fast data. Genetically all cats are tabby, however, many possess modifier genes that inhibit this pattern from being expressed. If a cat inherits two recessive a genes, then it will be a non-tabby (solid) cat as the presence of the a/a masks the tabby pattern.Ī/a =non-tabby (solid) Spots, sworls and stripes The agouti gene is dominant the code for this gene is A/a (a capital letter symbolises that the gene is dominant, a lower case letter means the gene is recessive). Certain it is that the word tabby only referred to the marking or stripes, not to the absolute colour. But it might also, one would suppose, with as much justice, be called a taffey cat, unless the calendering of “taffey” caused it to become “tabby”. This stuff, in bygone times, was often called tabby: hence the cat with lines or markings on its fur was called a “tabby” cat. The word tabby was derived from a kind of taffeta, or ribbed silk, which when calendered or what is now termed watered, is by that process covered with wavy lines. Harrison Weir, in his book Our Cats And All About Them, dated 1889, describes the origins as this: The name tabby is believed to have derived from Atabi, which is a type of striped taffeta (known as tabbi) that was manufactured in the Attabiah district of Baghdad in the Middle East. Agouti ( symbolised with an uppercase A) is dominant over almost all other coat colours with an exception for the white masking and white spotting genes. Ticked Abyssinian catĭomestic cats inherited the agouti gene from their wild cat ancestors, the African wildcat ( Felis silvestris lybica). Agouti hairs are most obvious on the ticked tabby (such as the Abyssinian or Singapura) who only has the agouti background but not the stripes, spots or sworls. The tabby gene is known as agouti and produces a background that is made up of individual hairs that have alternate banding ( ticking). The tabby cat is not a breed, but a coat colour that can be found in both mixed breed and purebred cat populations. Tabby is a coat pattern among domestic cats (purebred and mixed-breed) that features an agouti pattern of alternating dark and pale bands of colour along the hair shaft with contrasting darker spots, stripes or sworls and a prominent M on the forehead. On May 11, 2020, both artists presented their exciting proposals to the Fort Worth Art Commission. Choi arranged for she and artists Refik Anadol and Quayola to meet in Fort Worth to visit Pioneer Tower, visit various museums and other sites around Fort Worth, meet with potential institutional partners, and attend opening night of the Fort Worth Rodeo in the new Dickies Arena. The Fort Worth Art Commission concurred with their recommendation on October 7, 2019. They recommended that both Quayola ( ) and Refik Anadol ( ) be invited to prepare proposals for the project. On the following day, she presented a selection of internationally renowned new media artists to the Pioneer Tower Project Core Team for consideration. On September 25, 2019, DooEun Choi participated in the Public Art in Fort Worth panel discussion, sponsored by KERA Art&Seek and moderated by Jerome Weeks at the Kimbell Art Museum where she discussed her approach to the Pioneer Tower project. In April 2019, King and Pennington guided their appointed Curatorial Committee through a process that led to the selection of New York-based new media curator DooEun Choi. In November 2018, Council Member Dennis Shingleton appointed the Pioneer Tower Project Core Team composed of Cultural District and community stakeholders to provide input throughout the course of the project. In addition, they produced a 3D scan of the tower that the commissioned artists would use to format their projection mapping video artworks. For the Pioneer Tower Iconic Public Art Project, King and Pennington worked with the City of Fort Worth’s architectural consultant to specify art infrastructure, including electric and data connections on all four sides of the tower to support powerful video projection equipment. In June 2018, the City contracted with local artists and co-founders of Dallas Aurora ( Joshua King (JTK Studios LLC) and Shane Pennington (SP Studio LLC) as planning consultants b ased on their decade-long experience presenting visionary artists’ work to the North Texas community at the AURORA Biennial. In April 2018, the Fort Worth Art Commission’s recommended approach to for the project was presented to City Council, namely, projection mapping video artworks formatted to fit the unique architecture of Pioneer Tower by utilizing a 3D scan of the structure. This project offered an excellent opportunity to begin work on the City’s first iconic public art project. Will Rogers Memorial Center’s Pioneer Tower was recommended as one of four locations in Fort Worth for “destination quality, iconic public artworks from nationally and internationally-recognized artists” in the Fort Worth Public Art Master Plan Update, adopted by City Council in 2017.īy early 2018, the City of Fort Worth’s plans to rehabilitate the Pioneer Tower, built in 1936 and listed on the National Register of History Places, were underway. So, we need to enable the compilation of stm32f4xx_hal_uart.c file. By default, the GNU-ARM plugin for Eclipse disables unused STM32 HAL files, in order to speed up compile operation. The main() is really simple: it simply prints a message on the UART and hangs for ever.īefore we can compile the whole project, we need to do another final operation. For the sake of simplicity, this is the code you have to put inside the _initialize_hardware.c file. I've shown how to use the STM32CubeMX tool to generate the right clock initialization code. If you have followed my previous tutorial about GNU Eclipse plug-in, you already know that the plug-ins generates an incorrect clock configuration for the Nucleo-F4 board. When you generate the test project, you can using the following configuration parameters. We'll generate an empty project using the GCC ARM Eclipse plug-in, as shown in my series about the GCC toolchain for the STM32 platform. Second: the codeīefore we start configuring the USART2 peripheral, we need a test project. We've grabbed all the necessary information related to the hardware needed to start coding. This means that the Nucleo board is configured to use the USART2 peripheral of target MCU. As we can see in the following picture, the USART_TX and USART_RX ports are connected to PA2 and PA3 pins. Now we have to take a look to the Nucleo schematics. Looking to STM32CubeMX tool, we discover that the STM32F401RETx processor has 3 different USARTs: USART1, USART2 and USART6. First: pinoutĪ complex yet flexible MCU like the STM32 provides I/Os that have "overloaded" functionalities. This means that, before we can use a peripheral (in our case, the USART), we need to configure the peripherals associated to corresponding pins. I'll assume the Nucleo-F401RE model, but it should be really easy to rearrange instructions to properly use your specific Nucleo. ST provides the full hardware project of the STM32 Nucleo (the board is designed using the Altium Designer CAD, a professional CAD used in the electronics industry, but you are not required to have a so expensive piece of software to use your Nucleo). But, before we start coding, it could be really useful take a look to the hardware. In this post I'll show you how to properly configure and use the integrated virtual COM port of STM32 Nucleo board. The serial port is mostly useful for two reasons: if you want to debug your firmware printing messages (not strictly necessary with the ARM architecture, since we can also use ARM semihosting) or if you want to exchange commands and messages between your Nucleo board and your PC (perhaps, using a dedicated application you are building). Usually, this device is named something similar to tty.usbmodemXXXX, as shown below. If you use a Linux PC or a Mac, you'll find a new terminal in the /dev directory. When you install the ST-Link drivers, a new device appears in your hardware devices list: the ST-Link Virtual COM port. But, it provides at least another really useful feature: a Virtual COM port. ST Link is mainly designed to allow flashing of target MCU trough the mini-USB interface. As we have seen in the previous tutorial about this new developing board from ST, the STM32 Nucleo provides an integrated ST Link v2.1 interface. At one point, we asked perhaps too pointed a question. It all happens in flashbacks, which change the color of everything we’ve seen in the previous four episodes of the Showtime drama: It turns out the partnership between Vanessa and Sir Malcolm is much more fragile than we realized, and filled with tension. Eventually she seeks out Sir Malcolm, and tells him they must work together to find Mina.Īlso read: ‘Penny Dreadful’ Review: A Lovely, Lurid Study of Life and Death Vanessa, meanwhile, goes insane and possibly becomes possessed. Mina believes her life is ruined, and in her despair falls under the control of a vampiric master. Vanessa, damaged by what she witnessed, grows up to have sex with Mina’s fiance. In the version that aired, Sir Malcolm doesn’t realize Vanessa saw him - so he never realizes the hell her discovery unleashes. “We did do it so he was unaware, and we did do it so I saw the girl there and we actually locked eyes for a second,” he said. Dalton tells TheWrap that the show shot the scene two different ways.Īlso read: Timothy Dalton Interviews Us About ‘Penny Dreadful’ We learned that as a young girl, Vanessa Ives ( Eva Green) caught her best friend Mina’s father, Sir Malcolm ( Timothy Dalton), having sex with her mother. Sunday’s “Penny Dreadful” featured a scene in a garden maze that seems to be the source of much of the show’s madness. (Spoiler alert: Don’t read this if you haven’t yet seen Sunday’s “Penny Dreadful.”) The scene where Oggy ran over the Buddha as he fell over the monks was cut.

His mind however plays a trick on him when he thinks he sees a space shuttle from afar. Although they lose control of the shuttle and an astronaut dies from the impact while the other is still alive as he travels across the planet/satellite in search of life or communication. In the video 2 astronauts are traveling to the planet/satellite, although it's depicted larger than the planet (resembles earth) they fly over, meaning the importance placed on manned missions and human explorations of the last frontier. We see an astronaut in a lab facility with scientists running tests probing his mind, generally in the pursuit of knowledge. The end of the video lies the reason for the 'journey', to test the human psyche against the vast unknown of of the extraterrestrials. The video actually reminds me of Apollo 18, a horror movie that explains the mystery of 2 astronauts flying to the moon and never came back. The music video, although syncs with some of the words in the lyrics itself hold its own story. And since all of them happens to be musical artists from different genres pushing/exploring new musical boundaries, her chorus seems fit. Lykke Li's chorus throughout the song reinforces both verses saying "with mics in hand we'll stand the test of time". However towards the end she ultimately let in some doubt implying the consequences of outdoing/overdoing things (build it bigger) "make a way for when it falls", in other words failure is a part of success. She also explains her impulsive nature that backs up that goal "part of me won't let me quit, won't let me not say shit, can't be still i can't afford it, try to hold it in but it makes me sick". Santagold's verse explains her goal to 'prove them wrong' "i dream it and i build it tall". He also explains his underlying fear of not reaching success "being broke made my head hurt", in other words fear of poverty. Kanye's verse explains the superiority complex (ego) of his skill or of his success "I am the king and will not beheaded". The song (lyrics) is about determination for success and telling those who underestimates them "you don't know my mind, like i said a thousand times". Reason:īoth music and song are in totally different realms, but share or play around with the same theme (theme's at the end). Maybe, the thought that we are all under the illusion we are any better, fabricated to get through the hardships in our lives to survive to the next day, even as we toil under the direction of something far beyond our mental capacity.Ī beautiful song, with a morbidly incredible music video.Ī beautiful song, with a morbidly incredible music video. This leads to the thought that maybe what is implied is that we are all the same, that it is only perceived that we are better than anyone, that no matter what we do we will be all of the same importance and ability. Yet, the very end of the music video, we find that the astronaut is merely being tested, put under these horrors by scientists for whatever purpose. Helps to support that this lone, surviving astronaut is truly special, a beast of willpower and luck. She tries to settle down, holding herself back, but can't get herself to lower herself to those standards. She addresses herself as a separate kind, even. And, when Santogold's part comes in, she say's that she can't suffer mediocrity, the staying with the "thick-headed " essentially, that she's special, gifted, better than the rest. Combined with Kanye's rap and the chorus, makes him seem as if he's by some chance one of the durable men alive, surviving on raw will and luck. He even suffers heavy hallucinations at the end, and yet he still survives. He suffers a lack of sleep and food, showing obvious signs of sleep deprivation and fatigue. It shows an astronaut, by some miracle, surviving an impact on a distant celestial object, killing his partner instantly. If you watch the music video, it makes the meaning of the song much different then if I were to have just read the lyrics.
